Quick Weekend Chatter

Friday nights at the Murphy house are very traditional. I usually come home after work and take a short nap. I then go outside and watch my son ride his bike with his friends while I read a book or catch up on the paper. During this time my wife takes our baby in the running stroller and goes for an evening run. When she gets back, it’s pizza, ice cream and a movie or two.

Then the kids go to bed and I’m back on the computer trying to make things work. Tonight I was preparing yet another website to launch over the weekend and as I thought about it I became less and less interested in having the site launched on a weekend day. I won’t say that bloggers don’t work on the weekend, but I will say that they work less. By having a site launched on the weekend, it very easily could go unnoticed. I think that the ideal time to launch a site is at the beginning of the week, then you have the ability to work your network and let them know of the launch.

So with this new excuse revelation in mind, I turned to a new find that is a necessary evil: World Of Solitaire. This is a full screen game that runs in your window. It has all the features of the classic version that we love, plus lots of custom options. You can login if you want to keep track of scores, or you can just play. I spent 15 years trying to get this out of my system, ever since it shipped with Windows 3.1. And now that I finally feel like I kicked the habit, it gets dumped on me in a whole new fashion. Luckily, at this point I feel its more of a nostalgic replay from the past. But I know I’ll be burning future time there too.

Have a good weekend everyone.
